I have been thinking about micropigmentation for a long time, I think close to one year but I was always scared that it would be a disaster. I feared that I won’t like the color, the shape and it would be permanent problem plus I feared the pain. In this post I will tell you how it went, if it was painful and worth it.

Getting ready for micropigmentation

I have been researching a lot lingerists for the job and I am really lucky I was able to find my perfect match. Click here to find out how I was looking for my lingerist. Ewa’s portfolio is amazing and I couldn’t wait to get my brows done by her….. till the night before. I got all this anxiety, that my brows will be too thick and I was researching all my photos – 15 years back to prep and show which one I felt best in and to make sure they will end up being thin.

Brow shaping before micropigmentation

On the day of the micropigmentation I woke up early and headed to railway station, I had 2.5h ahead of me. I got to Ewa and showed her all the photos and made it extra clear I do not want thick brows. She was super kind and explained the process. She said she will first do a drawing which will be exactly the shape she will micropigment. Once she has drown the sketch I was mind blown, the brows were wonderful. She made me pick one I liked more so we can spot the differences and touch up. She didn’t rush me at any point.

Picking the pigment color

Once I had my perfect sketch drown we started discussing color. And by discussing I mean picking the right one by staining my forehead so I can get used to it. Ewa also explained the color will fade 30-50%. When I had the palet on my forehead she showed me which colors she liked, I had picked the exact same so I let her decide as she knew how they fade. My color was Black Coffee and the brand is Hanami. The pigments she uses retails for around $100 each, not a $10 you can find on amazon, which means the micropigmentation is more natural and will last about 1.5 years.

How painful micropigmentation really is?

We had the shape and the color picked and than we started discussing the needles and what I was going to feel. First she explained she will be using 2 different needles. One, to draw the sketch based on the pencil sketch we had. After that she was going to use another needle to do the micropigmentation. Picture here, how it looks – left -just pencil sketch, right- sketch with the first needle.  For this part there was no anesthesia and the pain level was manageable, not worse than RF Microneedling I had 2 days earlier. After that she used a special gel for anesthesia. It started working after 5 mins, not 30 mins as creams, but it lasted for about 15 mins. When she started micropigmenting my first brow I asked her whether she started as I could not feel anything. With the second brow I unfortunately started feeling some pain, probably after those 15 min and she added more of the anesthetic gel. When we had first layer completed she asked me to sit by the mirror and spot the differences. I noticed the end of one brow could be more edgy and she confirmed this is where I had the pain so she hasn’t finished it at first. She draw all the points she wanted to touch up and I went back on the table to finish.

How much time does micropigmentation take?

The whole procedure took about 2.5h where 40-50 min was the micropigmentation. We had a lot of time to look at the brows as you can’t notice everything at a glance. Ewa is a perfectionist and she didn’t want me to have uneven brows. Just look at the photo.

Final thoughts

I really enjoyed my micropigmentation with Ewa and could recommend her to anyone. Now I will be documenting the fading process as I am really curious how it will look and wasn’t able to find any pictures online. What is also important is the fact that the brows look much thicker on a photo than in real life so do not be afraid as I was when I couldn’t find a great picture as all seemed too wide. Hi, my name is Joanna, I started this blog in Jan 2017. I created posts about beauty, fashion, travel, rabbits, money blogging ect. Simply put: all the stuff I care about. After 10 months I realized my blog is not getting enough traffic so I dived into research. Till Oct 2017 I only had around 700 visitors on my blog per month. Then I implemented my Pinterest strategy and automated my pinning with my own build tool – PinMeApp. In Nov 2017 I got 3300 page views and then in Dec 2017 8500. That is how my app was born: PinMeApp. I wanted to help others grow traffic to their sites as well. Today I offer subscription for my app, but I also teach people my Pinterest strategy, step by step what I did to grow the traffic so fast, so this blog is now getting around 20k page views each month. I also offer Pinterest Management and implement my strategy for brands who want to reach their audience on Pinterest as well. My Pinterest account reaches over 5m people monthly. If you want such results feel free to contact me. Cheers, Joanna
